Hi Chaps,
Just a quick update to let you know that I am still around and if not kicking at least painting. This last couple of weeks have been pretty busy on the life front but hobby wise 8 zeds have been painted, one troll and some plague doctors. I am not entirely sure what the erm "doctors" will be used for but they will look OK on my shelf and as a backdrop in photographs.
These are done apart from some minor details and a varnish, I have really enjoyed painting these little Chaps but I still wince at the cost...£16 delivered. Very little packaging just a plastic bag in a padded envelope....I wanted a Foundry blister to take a pic of!
A blog on my wargaming activities, including painting, purchases and thoughts.

Work in Progress
It is a little strange but most of my figures now seem to be from Games Workshop? As a mostly historical type (or so I thought) I find this puzzling. GW are either Sci Fi or Fantasy and expensive to boot yet they are the only figures (except the odd Reaper) that are on my painting table! I have never played a game of WarHammer 40K yet I have a unit of Terminators awaiting undercoat and WarHammer Fantasy is a mystery to me but I now have a couple of units painted up?
To add to this mystery I have several odd modern military figures and a bunch of Zombie survival types on my shelves....long gone are my thoughts of a Napoleonic army in 28mm, maybe its just easier to paint small numbers of varied troops? The big battles (if they ever happen now) will have to be in 6mm...

Enjoying painting and the sunshine.
Hi Chaps,
Well it's all sunny here at last, maybe even too sunny to take a picture of my figures which does not happen too often. I completed these little post apocolyptic figures last night, the bases have yet to be done of course.
If I am lucky the post tomorrow will have a couple of Space Hulk games in it, although the figures will need a repaint I am sure that my son and I will have a couple of games over the weekend. If I am double lucky the Bretonnian cannon I ordered will arrive as well....it's not that I need one it was cheap and may come in handy at some point over the next decade or so.
Thanks for looking.
Keep blogging!

Interesting post
Hi Chaps,
you have probably come across this site before but I thought I may just put this up out of interest. The figures etc are mostly fantasy/scifi but the techniques can be applied to anything.

Thanks and have a good weekend.

A few pics
Hi All,
I was digging around my collection earlier today so I thought that I would take a few pictures of my older stuff. The 40K figures (there are 20 or so of them) were a gift from my wife so they are at least 7 or 8 years old! The mercenaries are fairly recent, I did take some dwarf pics but they are blurred...I have two Hordes of the things armies that have never been completed...this must sound familiar?
Over the next few weeks I am going to invest in some new brushes...any tips would be helpful because I usually use GW...does anyone use anything cheaper?
So far this year not one game despite my best intentions! I did look at buying some Essex 15mm so my boy and I could have a quick DBA game...£3.30 a pack of 8! God help them...28mm plastic is SO much more attractive now!! We have alexandrian but I will hold off until there are Indian figures available.
Thanks for reading chaps, you are all an inspiration. Lets keep gaming and nuts to the real world!!

28mm Figure painting pics
I started to reorganise my desk today and came across several figures that had been painted but put to one side. Indeed my desk is akin to a miniature zoo with 5 wolves, bats and rats that I have only a vague recollection of painting. Old age?
The Officer and the lady are from a game...possibly Cleudo and painted up OK, the pictures are poor because of the bad lighting here today-it is snowing outside-humbug-I have to trudge to collect my son from school...
This year I intend to campaign in the hope that this will make me paint on a regular basis, collect my figures in a more rational manner and have some fun playing games with my son! One of the most enjoyable aspects of solo gaming is the campaign diary...though I have only ever completed one (and that was over 20 years ago) this still holds a fascination for me. I may follow the progress of this project on this site or start a new blog...?
