Well it has been a while since I posted and there is a very sad reason. My father and best mate died at the end of February. Many of us will have experienced such a loss so you will understand the heart break.
Service will be resumed though it will never again feel normal, just new. It takes a while to recover just from the shock.
Today I did pick up the brushes and I am surprised to see I have a number of figures on the table that were completed weeks ago, I will post some pics soon.
Keep blogging guys and gals you are literally carrying me at the moment. This is Dad back in the 70's
So sorry for your loss. I'm glad you find comfort and distraction from your thoughts in blogging. It helped me a lot when we were going through difficult times this last year.

ReplyDeleteThis is the first post I have read on your blog as I only just found it. My heart goes out to you and family, and I wish you all the best as you find your way going forwards. From similar things in my life all I can say is that they don't go away but we carry on growing and somehow we grow over it eventually. I'm the same age as you, I solo wargame, not so much of a blogger like yourself, and I very nearly lost my dad in January, he was very close to death and luckily they stabilised him in hospital. But it was a very close thing, and I was about to rush up and see him at the end when the news came that he'd turned a corner. I'm going up to see him on Monday with my son, making some more memories from what time might be left. I'm just getting back into gaming and soloing, and although I don't really have anywhere to paint or wargame, I want to do some more of that too. Here's hoping that I might blog something that you'll enjoy reading. All the best, Paul.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words of support Paul, I ill certainly be reading your blog. I do hope that you find the time to paint and play wargames, it makes for good family time. Good luck for the future.
DeleteSorry for your loss. Glad to see that you are finding the strength to restore normality and get back to solo gaming. We are all with you.
