The Assault Group 28mm Africans

Hi,

Last night I ordered some Modern African figures from The Assault Group...hopefully they should arrive later this week...also as it is my birthday I bought myself a new camera! Just playing around with it makes me realise that I staggered on with my old Fuji for a little too long...so many features-and so cheap!

Happy days...off to drink beer! Sorry about the pics taken very quickly!

  1. Nice one, must admit, I could do with a decent camera, mine's seven years old and I tend to rely on my phone :)

  5. Thanks Chaps,
I have just been playing with the camera...£18 from Cash Generator with a 3 month warranty...10 million pixels etc etc...I just wonder why I didnt do it before!? I have enough buildings for a $x$ foot table...figures on the way.
Will be having a birthday beer and thinking of miniature campaigns in Africa....thanks for the comments!

  6. Will you be making up an African 'imagi-nation' or will your games be based on an actual country?

  7. Hi Shelldrake, I have not decided. I thought that a blog would be an excellent way of having gamers "play" opposing sides in a conflict....it would be a perfect non player character....just give out the information and wait for responses. Has anyone done this yet?
If there are others doing this it would be really helpful.
    Thanks

  8. I don't know of anyone that has done it, but I have considered it myself.

I do have a "play by blog" game on my zombie blog where players control a survivor and give orders and I do all the dice rolls then post the results, but it shouldn't be too hard to come up with some ideas for what you would like to do.

  9. That sounds very interesting...does this system throw up scenarios that you couldnt think of yourself? I have often thought that by using the internet one could really game solo but with added realism. Thanks Sheldrake I will ponder on this.

  10. Not so much scenarios that I didn't think of... more along the lines of players giving orders that you don't think of.

For example in my last game the players needed to secure a house. One player went to it right away and the others did all kinds of things that I didn't expect.

Simon Q, aka Brummie, who posted a comment here was one of the players.

If you are interested in discussing ideas for your African game (or any other game) that have players giving orders based on what info you feed them so that you can play the games out, feel free to drop me an email at aussiewargamer at gmail dot com

  11. Thanks Shelldrake I will be in touch. The action of other players forcing one to adopt or change a plan is what really makes this hobby interesting. I will be in touch mate.
