Which are the best 28mm Moderns?

Hi Chaps,

Probably not the best scale for this period but my son already has 28mm zombies...please could you recommend a decent range of 28mm modern figures? I used to buy Britannia but I have never ordered from the new owner....they did a technical which could have many uses!

I like the look of Elhiem but I cannot face making buildings in 20mmm, TAG are amazing but at £6.50 for four.... Has anyone tried Irregular? I like this manufacturer but at 90p per figure it may be worth paying a little more to get the quality.

I believe that Wargames Factory will be releasing some "survivor" types which will be interesting! Your responses will be much appreciated and I will use your opinions before I buy.

Thanks in advance!

  1. Depends on what you want. Hasslefree have some lovely figures.

Copplestones future wars/KKBB ranges may have a few figures of interest.

TAG are quite reasonably price to be fair for 28mm. I don't like some of there sculpts but that's just my opinion.

Empress miniatures have lots of nice modern soldiers US, UK and a few other nations.

Gripping Beast have some Coldwar British and US infantry which if your not to fussy about the gear would look the part.

Newline designs now have the Mongrel miniatures range which has various nations infantry.

I think your going to be looking at a minimum of £1.50+ per figure from these ranges though.

  2. Thanks Simon,

    Thanks for the response.

  3. I like the majority of the TAG figures & don't forget they ship with free postage, so if you add postage to the cost of other ranges, they might come out cheaper.

I would suggest Eureka Miniatures, but unlike TAG, the postage might be a real killer here.

Maybe Fighting 15s in the UK sells Eureka's 28mm figures?

    1. Fighting 15's do stock some of the 28mm figures but some as stated on the description may take upto 8 weeks (or something like that) to arrive.
