My Wife arrives safe.

Hi Chaps,

Well it has been a strange July. I was married in March but my wife's visa did not kick in until July 1st....Oijai arrived safely and is adjusting to life here in sunny Lancashire. This has obviously had an impact on my hobby activities but things are gradually forming a routine and a building has been completed and a few models are on order...life has turned a corner.

The building was made quickly and the rear is very plain with just a couple of doors and windows, two more are in the early stages of production. The eagle eyed will have noticed that the gun (Putilov 76mm) and crew are WW1 era but I am on a budget and they have been drafted into my WW2 Russian army. I have four of these based ready for an undercoat and a couple of items I won off ebay on the way so there will be no shortage of toys to paint-only a shortage of time!

Thanks for looking.

  5. Hey glad you found a Nice lady! Hey in WW2 the USSR my Uncle did a Big study on them ( he was there they treated him and others like crap:( they were not at all like they look in the Photos. Stalin wanted people to see a Modern looking army! My Uncle said much of the army early and even later on Had out dated gear! They were also very Ungreatful he was on many of the Ships gear vehicles returned to us ( if at all) on lead lease they Put pins in the Wires Stole a lot from them and Also took a number 2 where the Capt would be and crew would eat! That's the thanks we got for helping them. That's why in Pics you never really see all the USA and Britsh vehicles we sent them they would take film of US and Britsh that showed US and Britsh Vehicles and other Items! If you saw the USSR army for real they looked very odd indeed my uncle told me they looked often like WW1 or before turn of the 20thcent . If it was Not for the US and The UK they would have lost. After the War they stole most of the lead lease items and just said it was Destoryed in the war:( They were and still are not sane to deal with. Anyhow just wanted to say that ww1 can look fine for Russian.

    1. Thanks for that reply. Your uncle was probably right! In the 80s we had observers over from the eastern block and they stole everything they could touch-including bread which was odd as it was free??
      Thanks for the response.
